The Burton Veterans Honor Run is an 11K Run, a 5K Run & Walk, and a 5K GORUCK. All events start and finish at Blessed Sacrament Church. All runners and walkers are invited to participate, with a special honor to veterans with specially designed racing bibs for both veterans and active duty military entrants. Each participant will receive a voucher for a post-race meal including mostaccoli, salad and breadsticks. Proceeds will benefit The City of Burton Parks & Recreation Department and the Disabled American Veterans organization.

Awards will be presented in the 11K Run, 5K Run, 5K GORUCK and 5K Walk divisions in the following categories.
- Overall Male & Female
- Masters Male & Female
- Top three Males and Females in age groups 1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+ (excluding 5K GORUCK)
- Challenge Coin for 11K Run finishers and 5K GORUCK
In the GORUCK division participants are required to wear a backpack (or child carrier) with a minimum of ten pounds of weight added. GORUCK participants are required to provide their own backpack and weight. GORUCK participants will have a separate start from the 5K Run and all finishers will receive a Challenge Coin. The course begins and finishes at Blessed Sacrament Church. New for 2018 the course has been updated by the City of Burton public safety officials to increase participant safety. The course is not USATF Certified for distance, but is accurately measured.
Participants in the 11K Run must be able to maintain at least a 15:00 minute mile pace as roads will open to traffic.
Each participant will receive a voucher for a post-race meal including mostaccoli, salad and breadsticks. Tickets for buffet for non-participants available during packet pickup before race.
Packet Pick Up
For your convenience, there will be two opportunities for late registration and packet pick up.
- Friday, November 1, 2019: At Complete Runner from Noon-6:00 p.m.
- Race day, November 2, 2019: At the race site from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Timing & Results
Timing and results will be provided by Newton Timing using ChronoTrack Systems, featuring the disposable B-tag that remains attached to the race number bib. Results will be posted live during the race on kiosks in the registration area and mobile at www.newtontiming.com.
Burton Race Series
The Veterans Honor Run is the final event in the four event Burton Race Series. There is no need to register for the series, just complete three of the four events and receive a custom Burton Race Series medal. Medals will be available for pick-up at the Veterans Honor Run.
